The Kanoo Group hosts the 2019 Iftar Celebration for its employees

Dubai, UAE: Hundreds of employees of The Kanoo Group and their families came together for the 2019 Iftar gathering which has been an annual celebration for the group. This year’s Iftar banquet was held at the Marriott Hotel Al Jaddaf in Dubai on 22nd May 2019.

Mishal Kanoo, Chairman of The Kanoo Group - UAE & Oman
Mishal Kanoo, Chairman of The Kanoo Group, attended the Iftar together with his family and welcomed all the employees and guests from a diverse religious and social background, who joined in celebrating the spirit of Ramadan, to the breaking of the fast.

Members of the senior management team including Fahad Kanoo, CEO of The Kanoo Group - UAE & Oman, as well as divisional heads and managers also came to grace the occasion.

AbdulRahman Hassan, a religious leader, delivered a short talk before the crowd about Ramadan and Fasting as a time for recharging their faith with extra focus and discipline in prayers and the teachings of the Qur’an, and after the speech led the Mughrib prayer.

The Annual Iftar event is being prepared for all the staff of The Kanoo Group across the UAE from different divisions, as well as their families, and members of the Management, which is yearly organised by the Marketing team led by Ali Islim, and the HR team led by Mohammad Tariq.

Ramadan, the most sacred month of the Islamic calendar, is a time of spiritual reflection, improvement and increased devotion and worship. It is a time where fasting is being observed and Muslims are expected to put more effort into following the teachings of Islam.

Fasting is intended to help teach Muslims self-discipline, self-restraint and generosity. The fast begins at dawn and ends at sunset. Each day before dawn, many Muslims observe a pre-fast meal called ‘Suhoor’ and a fast-breaking meal at sunset called ‘Iftar’.

Iftar is an Arabic term which literally means the breaking of the fast. It is the evening meal when Muslims end their daily Ramadan fast. Over time, Iftar has grown into banquet festivals and very much of a social event with religious significance and meaning.

The organised event mostly received positive reviews from attendees from the preparation, branding of The Kanoo Group depicting the elements of corporate identity, to the food and venue.

The Kanoo Group Iftar reflects the true spirit of Ramadan which is not only a time of goodwill and blessings but a special occasion where colleagues and friends spend quality time in an informal setting, and an act of gratitude to the employees’ contributions to the overall growth of the organisation.
