Kanoo Machinery bags top performance award from ADNEC

Abu Dhabi, UAE: Kanoo Machinery received a Certificate of Appreciation from ADNEC for obtaining an ‘A’ rating in the 2017 performance evaluation. The prestigious recognition award was given during the ADNEC Procurement and Vendor "Get Together Meeting’ held on 26th December 2018 at ADNEC Headquarters in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

On behalf of Kanoo Machinery Service Department, Mr. Sony Cherian George, Deputy Workshop Manager, and Mr. Mohammed Shabeer Ali, Workshop Supervisor, received the certificate award from Mr. Abdul Munaf Surve, Senior Procurement Specialist, ADNEC.
Mr. Cibyraj Natarajan Chandrika, Product Support Manager – UAE, Kanoo Machinery LLC said, “We are extremely proud and honoured with such a great award achieved by our Kanoo Machinery Service Department. We thank each and everyone for their team efforts and dedication.”

The ADNEC Procurement and Vendor "Get Together Meeting” started with a program to honour the Vendors who have showed their utmost support to ADNEC and who have performed and exceeded its expectations, it said, which later concluded with a lunch gathering.

Kanoo Travel recognizes Top Performers and Key Industry Contributors for 2018


Dubai, UAE: Kanoo Travel recently recognized its UAE top performers for 2018, with an awards ceremony held at its Headquarters in Dubai.
Mr. Zaeem Gama (Interim Executive General Manager) and Mr. Aubrey Heldt (General Manager – UAE & Oman), Kanoo Travel, hosted the ceremony and awarded the best employees based on several criteria, which were subjected to nominations by individual line managers and selection of winners by the management from among those nominees.

Today we honour the extraordinary achievements of our 2018 award winners. Those we have recognized have exhibited a true commitment to transforming Kanoo Travel in setting the standard for excellence within our company. They have exuded exceptional services not only to external but internal customers and emerging on top of their game,” said Mr. Zaeem Gama.

Mr. Aubrey Heldt added, “We strongly believe that this recognition will further encourage and build stronger enthusiasm and strength within our teams to scale new height for 2019. The winners were lauded for their dedication to going above and beyond their call of duty in serving Kanoo Travel’s customers and in continuously enhancing our client travel experiences.”

This year’s winners who have generated the ‘Highest Income’ were awarded to Abdul Khader Subhan, Hazel Muthambiranwa, Ma Loisa Bayos Gonzales, Nafessa Ansari Usman and Shafiullah Mohamed; while ‘Best Sales’ were given to Vikas Patil, Flora Coutinho,  Rekan Fazly Mohammed Latiff, Bahaa El Deen, Vimal Varghese, Arun Kumar B. Manigandan, and Waqar Ahmed respectively.

Other key awards including ‘Best Support Associate’ were given to Sundeep Sundara Babu, Muhammad Faraz Alam Khan, Kashimsab Shaikh, Rony Rodrigues, Jemini Jose Elavunkul, Edwin Vincent Dsouza, Duminda Prasad Silva, Irfan Zaka, and Wasantha Kumara Langappuli.

Equally, the ‘Best Customer Care’ awards were given to Qusai Habib, Marlon Cres M Andos, Haydee Mapoy, Roy Urmenita, Mohammed Idrees Amer John, Erly Sandaan Sta Cruz, Nazimul Islam, Debbie Tamayo David and Niroshanna Mandalanayagam.

Managers and staff of Kanoo Travel from across the UAE, as well as the regional office, convened to recognize and celebrate this year’s Kanoo Travel top performers in the UAE, while highlighting the importance of delivering an efficient, fast and convenient service to customers, and also keeping abreast with technologies.

Kanoo Travel’s Team B wins Runner-Up Trophy at Delta Foot Golf Challenge

Delta Foot Golf Challenge 2018 ended with an awesome display of Tee to Hole accuracy from Kanoo Travel’s Team B which finished with the Runner-Up Trophy held at the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club on 9th November 2018.

The Foot Golf Challenge was hosted by Delta Airlines with the participation of its major travel partners including Kanoo Travel, a member of The Kanoo Group. Every year, Delta Airlines has been organising such various sporting challenge event, attended by its industry partners across the UAE.

“We were excited to play in the competition with extremely talented players and excellent coaches from across our partners and customers, leading to this award. This gathering also continues to nurture the bond between us”, said Aubrey Heldt, General Manager, Kanoo Travel – UAE & Oman.
Foot Golf is a precision sport, in which players kick a soccer ball into a cup in as few shots as possible. The game is played similarly to golf, with the exception that players use a soccer ball instead of a golf ball, and the ball is kicked rather than struck with a club, working toward a 21-inch "cup" in place of the usual golf hole.

The winning teams were awarded with trophies, and players from the teams as well as participants emphasized the importance of physical fitness and staying physically active, in such a fun environment.

A Guinness World Record: The Kanoo Group brand included in the world’s biggest billboard

Dubai, UAE: The Kanoo Group, a diversified business conglomerate, one of the largest independent, family-owned groups of companies in the Gulf is one of the UAE iconic brands featured in the world’s biggest billboard with 6,000 square meters in size, a Guinness World Record.

The billboard was built by the Emirates Intellectual Property Association (EIPA), in collaboration with Dubai Police under the theme, ‘We think like Zayed’ in connection with the celebration of Sheikh Zayed’s 100th birth anniversary, who dedicated his life to serving the nation and raised it across various fields on both regional and global levels.

The Kanoo Group celebrates Oman National Day

Muscat, Oman: The Kanoo Group in Oman celebrated the 48th Oman National Day at its Kanoo Shipping head office in Muscat held on 18th November 2018 as a symbol of renewed loyalty and gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, and his wise leadership towards a brighter future for the nation and its people.

Employees of The Kanoo Group came together for the festivities. It was an opportunity to show their support for the government with its steadfast commitment towards Oman development, and in ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region.

Visitors and employees extended their warm wishes and congratulatory messages to one another and likewise shared cakes and local sweets; while some employees paraded with national costumes to mark the occasion.

CUCA Students tour Kanoo Travel for learning opportunities in the Travel sector

Dubai, UAE:  Travel and Tourism students from City University College of Ajman (CUCA) recently visited Kanoo Travel premises in Karama, Dubai to gain insights into their chosen field, and to understand the functions of the industry. It was also an opportunity to those who pursue a career in the Travel sector.
During the visit, Aubrey Heldt, General Manager, Kanoo Travel – UAE & Oman delivered his opening speech and welcomed the 22 Students, as well as Faculty Member, Dr. Tajwar Hussaini, Internal Verifier at CUCA. He further gave a short briefing about Kanoo Travel as a Travel Management Company (TMC) and introduced the new type of evolving business, the Online Travel Agency (OTA).

Salman Bhari, Sales Manager, Kanoo Travel - UAE & Oman conducted a product presentation of Kanoo Travel on all relevant areas of the travel business in order for the students to understand the functioning of the Industry. 

Additionally, Naseer Khan, Regional Travel Manager, Kanoo Travel-UAE & Oman gave them an outline on how the Kanoo Travel as a company handles its day to day operations as a corporate business.

Bhavin Mithani, Business Partnerships Manager, Kanoo Travel – UAE conducted the office tour to various travel departments and also explained the overall operations of The Kanoo Group. Mishal Kanoo, South Korean envoy hold talks to strengthen ties

Dubai, UAE: Mr. Mishal Kanoo, Chairman of The Kanoo Group (UAE & Oman) met with the South Korean Ambassador to the UAE H.E. Park Kang-Ho and the commercial attaché Mr. Chae, Kyu Nam to discuss potential business opportunities between South Korea and The Kanoo Group.

Maritime leaders gather at Kanoo Shipping’s Annual Regional Meeting


Dubai, UAE: Bringing together prominent maritime leaders from its Middle East/Africa network, Kanoo Shipping once again successfully concluded its Annual Regional Meeting with this year’s theme, “Onwards and Upwards.” The meeting was held on 2nd – 3rd October 2018, onboard the iconic Queen Elizabeth 2 in Dubai.

Executives from Kanoo Shipping including Jonathan Bygrave, EGM-Kanoo Shipping, and Nikolai Norman, Head of Commercial Kanoo Shipping, as well as members of The Management Team welcomed the regional participants with the presence of Fahad Kanoo, Acting CEO, The Kanoo Group (UAE & Oman) and Ali Abdullah Kanoo, Member of the Board, Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo.

The Kanoo Group wins LinkedIn's 2018 Best Talent Acquisition Team in MENA


Dubai, UAE: The Kanoo Group, one of the largest family-owned conglomerates in the Middle East, has won 'The Best Talent Acquisition Team' Award for 'Other MENA Countries' category at the recent LinkedIn MENA Talent Awards held at the Palazzo Versace Dubai on 4th October 2018.

The MENA Talent Awards was held with the support of Her Excellency Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Development, and Dr Hayat Sindi, one of the world’s leading biotechnologists and Senior Advisor to the Islamic Development Bank’s President for Science, Technology and Innovation.

Held for the fourth consecutive year, the event recognises some of the biggest companies in the Middle East that have made a mark in the recruitment and employer branding space who have used LinkedIn solutions to make a significant impact within their organisations.

The Kanoo Group achieves MOHRE award for Emiratisation efforts


Dubai, UAE: The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) has awarded The Kanoo Group with Tawteen Partners Club Membership - Gold (Dubai) and Silver (Abu Dhabi) after having been qualified according to membership requirements and criteria, in line with the government’s Emiratisation programme.

Under the support of His Excellency Nasser bin Thani Juma Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the Tawteen Partners Club is a MORHE initiative with an objective of contributing to implementing the policies that drive Emirati job seekers to join the private sectors.

It also offers special privileges, incentives and services to qualified private sector establishments according to their classification in the Club.

Ms. Maha Kanoo, General Manager, HR & Marketing – UAE & Oman, The Kanoo Group received the prestigious award which was presented by Ms. Farida Abdullah Al Ali, Assistant Undersecretary for National Human Resources Recruitment at The Kanoo Group’s Head Office in Dubai.

“We are honoured to be one of the strategic partners of the Government in enhancing the UAE workforce participation in the private sectors,” said Ms. Maha Kanoo.
Ms Maryam Al Busaidy, HR Manager, Employee Services and Emiratisation – UAE & Oman together with Mr. Ahmed Mohammad Alipoor, HR Manager, Public Relations – UAE who spearheaded the programme and also part of The Kanoo Group’s local workforces, joined the awarding ceremony.

Ms. Farida Abdullah Al Ali also met with The Kanoo Group’s local employees and exchanged dialogue with them about the importance of Emiratisation which is a priority for the UAE Government and a national responsibility for all, which is one of the driving forces of the UAE's economic development.

After determining each level of Emiratisation priority, the MOHRE sets out a specific ratio of Emirati nationals who should be working in a company.

Based on the ratio and depending on the total number of points, the MOHRE then classifies the company as Silver, Gold or Platinum.

Tawteen Partners Club privileges include access to VIP services (faster, with lower Government fees), membership upgrade, etc. The membership is free and valid for 1 year from the date of joining. It is renewed automatically, provided that all membership conditions are maintained.
The responsibilities and roles of the club members include engaging with other members through regular meetings and open discussions aimed at sharing best practices and helping all parties be responsible partners in realising the Government’s plans and aspirations towards forming a competitive knowledge-based economy led by local talents.
