Turkish Airlines honours Kanoo Travel for 2015 performance

Dubai, UAE: Kanoo Travel received a plaque of appreciation during the Annual Travel Agencies Awards and gala dinner event hosted by Turkish Airways to honour travel agents across Dubai for their outstanding support and contribution to the airline’s robust expansion in the Emirate for 2015. 

The event was held at Park Hyatt Dubai on 29^th February 2016 where the most successful partners in the travel industry were given recognition and introduced to Exclusive Drive Services of Turkish Airways. It was another year of celebration to the business relationship.

Kanoo Travel was awarded among the top 23 best performing agents in 2015 for being an intrinsic part of the airline’s advancement in the region. Mr. Sunil D’souza, Mr. Aubrey Heldt, Mr. Bhavin Mithani, Mr. Hemant Baheti and Mr. Shaukat Parkar received the plaque of appreciation on behalf of Kanoo Travel.

Over 250 guests graced the special celebration including Mr. Mustafa Levent Bilgen, Turkish Ambassador to the UAE; Mr. Erdem Ozan, Turkish Consul General in Dubai, and senior officials of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority.

Pertaining to the recent award, Mr. Sunil D’souza said, “This honour clearly demonstrates Kanoo Travel’s strength in the travel sector for the quality of services and customer experience that we collectively deliver in this part of the region. This milestone is for everyone who constantly work hard towards success of Kanoo Travel.”

The Kanoo Group announces completion of villa project

Dubai, UAE: The Kanoo Group finally announced the completion of its villa compound development. The new villa community comprises of 11 contemporary residential properties in the heart of one of Dubai’s most sought-after neighbourhoods.

"Working with AD& D and Core Savills, we were able to leverage global best practice and expertise within the prime residential real estate sector and create a residential community that is truly unique,” he added.

The Kanoo Villas were initially unveiled for lease in November last year. The effective launch of the project was made possible through the valuable contributions of the Property department in association with the projects architects AD& D, contractors Al Ghurair Construction and exclusive agents Core Savills.

Kanoo Travel team paddles to a grand Victory at White Water Rafting

Dubai, UAE: Kanoo Travel won the Championship title in the recent ‘Delta Challenge’ which was held on 11^th December 2015 at Wadi Adventure - Jebel Hafeet, with this year’s chosen theme for the ‘White Water Rafting’ challenge. Delta Airlines has been organising the ‘Delta Challenge’ for the past 8 years with different themes, and has been attended by major travel partners.

Every year, Kanoo Travel has been participating in this prestigious event as a travel partner for Delta Airlines, and has also won several Championship titles in the past.  

There were 4 participating teams from Kanoo Travel - Kanoo Riders, Kanoo Zombies, Kanoo Warriors and Kanoo Surfers, who joined the ‘Whitewater Rafting’ match for this year.

The Delta Challenge 2015 comprised of 20 teams from 17 travel companies that took part in the event. The experience consisted of 2 preliminary rounds of tough competitive rowing for the qualification. Later, 3 Kanoo Travel teams qualified for the final championship race which was the highlight of the competition.

White water rafting is an extreme endurance sport that requires team work, precision and stamina. Whilst the adrenaline boost of this team surfing adventure was remarkable, the bonding experience, fun, thrills and excitement was enthralling. Each team consisted of 5 members rowing through rapids on an inflatable raft down treacherous waters with the guidance of a raft instructor.

The ‘Kanoo Surfers’ team, Captained by Sunil D'Souza emerged victorious and walked away with the DL Championship Trophy for 2015.

Kanoo Machinery participates in the 2015 Dubai Travelers Festival

Dubai, UAE: Kanoo Machinery took part in the biggest gathering for globe trotters, record-breakers and voyagers from around the world, the Dubai Travelers Festival, which was held at Mushrif Park, Dubai on 16^th – 19^th December 2015, under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, with the support of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center.

The Dubai Travelers Festival is the leading Travelers & Adventurers festival in the region where seasoned explorers meet annually to share their experiences and stories through lectures, seminars and photo exhibitions from their journeys across the world, by a myriad of means (car, boat, foot, horse, camel, bicycle and plane) - all driven by the spirit of passion and adventure.

The Fourth Annual 2015 Festival featured Manon Ossevoort, the first woman to travel from the village where she was born (Netherlands, EU), all the way to the South Pole, by a tractor! She arrived after continuously driving the Massey Ferguson MF 5610 tractor from Europe through Africa and across the rugged, icy landscape of Antarctica.

Inspired by the epic real-life story of the ‘Tractor Girl’, Kanoo Machinery as the official dealer for Massey Fergusson, was invited to partake in the exhibition. Members of Kanoo Machinery, Mogallan Bhagat and Khalid Abdul Hussain Ali, under the leadership of James McSorley; displayed their Massey Ferguson 4708 tractor, along with roll up stands and Kanoo products in the event.

Other participants in the Festival with extraordinary stories included the first UAE official team to travel around the world by cars, first Emirati to climb the Everest, the Dubai Riders who traveled around the world by motor bike, a U.K. woman who makes Ottawa stop on horseback ride around the world, an adventurer from Morocco who swims around the world, a Japanese man travelling around the world by bike, and the first woman from U.K. who rowed three oceans.
