Kanoo Engineering partners with CIS & Konecranes

Dubai, UAE: Kanoo Engineering, a member of The Kanoo Group, recently supplied steel girders for one of the largest span EOT Cranes in the Middle East. The two number of 5T capacity cranes with a span of 50 metres was designed by Konecranes and manufactured and assembled in Kanoo Engineering workshops at Dubai Industrial City with the components imported from Konecranes Factory in Hämeenlinna, Finland.

The EOT cranes were provided for the Oman Defence for its aircraft hangar at Jabreen Airbase in Oman.

The cranes were originally planned to be despatched in two lengths, but Kanoo Engineering was able to arrange for the girders to be manufactured in one length of 50 metres and transported to site by road transport using special dolly trailers. The girders were 2 metres deep and each one weighing approximately 28 tonnes.

Kanoo Engineering met all the project specifications to the satisfaction of the customer and delivered the girders cost effectively in time. As a result of the success of the project, Kanoo Engineering was awarded with 2 more EOT crane girders with a span of 39 meter for a similar project in Oman.

“The partnership between Kanoo Engineering and CIS / Konecranes will definitely add more and more successful projects to our credentials and we look forward to open new frontier of custom built EOT cranes throughout the GCC countries”, said Mark Vinnicombe, General Manager of Kanoo Engineering.
