Dubai
Shipping Agents Association, with the support of
the Director of the Department of Ports & Customs, provides a platform
for members to promote the joint interests of the
shipping industry and organizes various recreational events throughout the year
(e.g. cricket tournament) to foster and strengthen relationships with
affiliates from various organizations.

The team players from Kanoo Shipping were Muhammed Farooq, Santhush
Premawadana, Zeeshan Idris, Eric Fernando, S. Sridhar, Chatura Nanayakkara, Shivan
Gomez, Vishnu Krishnan, Mohammed Zahid, Iftikahar Uddin, Gayan Weerakkody and Mohammed
Rizvie.
Kanoo Shipping managed to beat Inchcape Shipping and Emirates
Shipping in the 1st round and beat CMA-CGM on the Pre-Quarters. They
were qualified to the Quarter Finals.
Special Awards for ‘Man of
the Match’ were also awarded to Kanoo Shipping cricketers: Iftikahar Uddin against Inchcape
Shipping, Muhammed Farooq against
Emirate Shipping and Santhush
Premawadana against CMA/CGM.
Meanwhile, team Captain Muhammed Farooq said that the awards
they received, although not the major one; still stood a good victory as a
product of hard work and camaraderie aimed at molding the talents of fellow players
and developing a sense of sportsmanship.
