From South African Airways to Philippine Airlines: Kanoo Travel wins big at the start of 2023

Kanoo Travel—one of the divisions of The Kanoo Group—has been on a smooth streak at the start of the year after winning big and getting recognized by South African Airways and Philippine Airlines on two separate events.

Kanoo Travel emerged as first runner up at the annual bowling championship event organized by South African Airways in January 2023. The event brought together several travel entities to celebrate and engage the sector. It was participated by other companies including Al Rostamani, BCD Travel, Dnata, Reed & Mackay

The division’s team, led by Kanoo Travel Regional Head of MIS Faraj Nissam, comprised Service Delivery Manager Kevin Samsoodeen, Supervisor Sajid Shaikh, and Travel Consultants Hafiz Farooq and Saud Kazi. It was a very close competition between Kanoo Travel and Al Rostamani–who ultimately won by 10 points.

In addition, Kanoo Travel was recognized and awarded with ‘Exceptional Performance for Contribution of Passenger Sales in 2022’ by Philippine Airlines at ‘Mabuhay Night: A Philippine Airlines Dubai’—which was held at H Hotel in Dubai in early February.

The division, deemed the largest Travel Company in the region, has been conferred with this coveted recognition that distinguishes the most dynamic and efficient travel company in the region—offering comprehensive and specialized services as well as unmatched achievements that guarantee the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

With these recognitions, deemed among the highest distinctions at Mabuhay Night, Kanoo Travel has once again raised the Kanoo brand flag high in the travel and leisure landscape—reflecting the division’s exceptional efficiency and commitment to provide only the best service for its partners.

Kanoo Travel is the product of Kanoo Group’s interest in pioneering the travel industry in the region. The Group’s interest in travel started in 1937, when the company used to provide refuelling facilities for Imperial Airline seaplanes en route to India and Australia. Then, in 1947, Kanoo Travel became the first IATA agency in the Gulf. And then in 1997, it became the very first travel company in the Middle East to receive the ISO certification.
